SuZi
is a poet, prose writer, visual artist, and performer who lives in Ocklawaha,
Florida. She has an M.A. in English (Loyola University of Chicago) and has
been teaching at colleges and high schools for fifteen years.
Her poems have appeared in New American Writing, Exquisite Corpse,
Longshot and other print magazines. Electronic publications include Recursive
Angel, Artistry of Life, Muse Guild, Rogue Scholars and some sites
that seem to have vaporized.
Su Zis essays have been published in print by Natural Horse
Magazine, Star-Banner (her local New York Times), etc., and online
by Cosmoetica and Exquisite Corpse. She has written, and from time to time
published, fiction, as well.
She has performed her spoken word work and read her poetry in New Orleans,
Chicago, Tampa, San Francisco, Orlando, etc. She has exhibited art
in Chicago, New Orleans, Tampa and has shipped works to places she
can't remember.
She has worked as a barn manager, groom, bartender, house painter, antique
restorer, field researcher, teacher, county parks worker, landscape maintainer,
shop girl, etc. She is currently learning carriage driving.
She smokes cigarettes, has tattoos and drives a pick-up truck. Her favorite
food is chocolate. She drinks coffee, but not much beer or liquor; when
she does drink liquor, she prefers Jack Daniels. She likes to garden, in
her own fashion, and has recently planted some bamboo.
